Teams

We currently have 2 men’s teams and 2 women’s team. All teams compete at a high level on a weekly basis in the BUCs competition. Many of our squad players also play in local leagues in Manchester.

About the Club

UMTTC holds bi-weekly social sessions at the Sugden Centre for players of all abilities. Squad players and qualified coaches are available for practise and sessions can be attended on a pay-as-you-play basis or as part of the club membership package. Sessions are fun, relaxed and social - you can play as little or much as you like with whoever you wish to play with and the club caters for all abilities. Equipment is provided and trials are held at the beginning of the year for players who wish to try out for the squad and play competitively (though mini tournaments will be held throughout the year so that no-one misses out!).

Club Philosophy

UMTTC aims to promote the sport of table tennis (the sport that absolutely everyone can have a go at!) to students of all abilities, whether you wish to compete regularly, stay active or simply play socially. The club not only offers high-level coaching and competitive BUCS fixtures but fun competitions and social events as well, creating a great team vibe.

Training Times & Location

Friday 17:00-19:00 and Saturday 15:00-17:00. Squad training: Please ask committee for information or pop along to our social sessions first.

Hall Sport Table Tennis

Hall Sport programme is free for any student living in Halls of Residence. It is aimed at newcomers to sport or those that want to exercise on a social level. Sports equipment is provided but please make sure you wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Table Tennis is a very social sport so be prepared to meet lots of people from your halls at this session. You will take part in fun drills aimed at improving your technique and various game formats with players of all abilities. All equipment is provided so all you need is comfortabe clothing and footwear.

SPORTICIPATE TABLE TENNIS

New to this academic year...SPORTICIPATE Table Tennis welcomes all abilities to the sessions. It is not restricted to where you live or what year you are studying in and the best bit it is FREE and open to all students and staff at The University of Manchester. Simply register here and bring your printed version or e-ticket along to the session.

Table Tennis sessions commence on 6 February 2015 and run weekly on Fridays at the Sugden Sports Centre Hall B from 8.00pm - 9.00pm. This session will give players the chance to play fun and friendly matches in a large Hall with excellent quality tables. There will be a qualified Table Tennis coach at hand if you would like additional tips to improve your game. Just wear suitable sport clothing and have a bottle of water at hand. We hope to see you there.
