Free Table Tennis London

Free tennis tables appear in London public parks thanks to Ping!Waiting for you to impress passers-by with your devilish topspin action are a host of free table tennis tables, all provided as part of the Ping! project, an initiative to boost recreational table tennis.

The tables have been put up in various parks in London and around the country, thanks to Sport England receiving £250, 000 of National Lottery funding to provide tables to non-profit organisations.

The only stipulation being that the tables are free for people to use and enjoy.

“We’d like to see ping-pong tables popping up everywhere – from village greens to university canteens, and city squares to community centres, ” enthused Sport England’s Chief Executive, Jennie Price.

“The important thing for any organisation applying for a table is to demonstrate that it will be well used.”

The photos above were taken in Golden Square, Soho – and, as you can see, the rain didn’t stop these intrepid players!
