Table Tennis Tournaments Near me

The 2015 Edmonton Chinatown Table Tennis Tournament took place this weekend at the Edmonton Chinatown Multicultural Centre (ECMCC) located at 9540 102 Ave in Edmonton, Alberta. The two day tournament is in its 25th year of competition and carries on the legacy of the late Alberta table tennis legend Hong Mar and continues today as a local tournament that attracts great talent from all over the central Alberta region. As we have for many many years, over 20 Edmonton Table Tennis Club (ETTC) members supported the event by participating in the individual, team and age group events. We also had a few members help run the tournament as well as officiate. The tournament was a success with all participants walking away with medals, trophies and smiles:

Open Singles (Bryan Ho – GOLD; Greg Thomas – SILVER)

Bryan Ho is one of the best junior table tennis athletes in Canada and a perennial Edmonton Open competitor, having anchored the boy’s team in Alberta’s Bronze medal finish in the team table tennis event at the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George, British Columbia. Greg Thomas is a professor at the University of Alberta, a former professional and top ranked table tennis athlete from Australia and a member of Edmonton Table Tennis Club.
