PLEASANTVILLE, New York – USA Table Tennis, the Westchester Table Tennis Center, and the North American Table Tennis Tour are excited to announce the Grand Finals of the 2014 North American Tour, taking place February 6-8 in Pleasantville, NY.

The 16 invited players, who earned their positions via 25 elite tournaments around the country last year, will be competing for over $10, 000 in cash prizes. Tour leader Kai Zhang, 17, of the Westchester TTC - a sophomore at Pleasantville High School - will head the field. His competition includes: North American champion Eugene Wang (Victoria, BC), U.S. champion Jimmy Butler (Houston, TX), and 12-year-old Crystal Wang (Boyds, MD), who recently won a bronze medal at the World Championships' junior team event in Shanghai, China.

The Westchester TTC will host a welcome party on Friday night, Feb. 6 (6:00-10:00 pm), for the public to meet the players, participate in a handicap event with cash prizes, and enjoy food/drink.

The Grand Finals' preliminary matches will take place on Saturday, Feb. 7 (10:00 am - 6:00 pm), with four round robin groups of four players. Two players from each group will advance to single elimination playoffs on Sunday (11:00 am - 4:00 pm). All matches will be the best of 5 games, except the semifinals and finals, which will be the best of 7 games. A prize ceremony will immediately follow the finals.

Bruce Liu, North American Tour director, said, “The 2014 North American Tour exceeded my expectations in depth of players and support of the top tournaments across the country. U.S. players now have the ability to compete with the best in the world stateside."

"This will be one of the greatest assemblages of table tennis talent in the United States for many years, " said Will Shortz, crossword editor of the New York Times and owner of the Westchester TTC.

The Grand Finals will be streamed live in high-definition with color commentary via USA Table Tennis at (View Here)
