Table Tennis ball collector

How much can one really say about a ball scoop? Plenty. This thing is awesome. I've got a variety of nets laying around my table tennis venue, but this is the tool my eye always seeks out first. It is quick, efficient, and downright fun. Yes, I said fun. A strange satisfaction is perceived every time I capture a ball, and no longer must I concentrate on good net technique. Remember Whack-a-Mole? This is the table tennis equivalent. And it even allows me to get greedy while ball hunting, whereas a full net is always risky as you attempt to scoop just 'one more ball'.

Sure you could make one yourself, but why bother? For not much more than the cost of a net you can be having almost as much fun collecting balls as you do playing table tennis. I expect to see foreign clones of this ingenious device cropping up, but stick with the original. You won't be disappointed!

I bought it for our club (Fairbanks Interior Table Tennis) because we play in a big basketball gym and use plenty of balls on 6-7 tables. After the practice, the balls are all over the gym. Now, picking them is just fun.

This device is indeed hand made from pipes, badminton rocket, and nylon strings. The handle is long and convenient even for my height 6'3''. It can be split in half with a convenient connector for easier storage. It arrived in a crappy box without any fancy wrapping. Big deal! It works better than anything I have tried before. We have a scoop from Butterfly, I also tried the pipe from RoboPong. The RoboPong tool was OK, but this one is unbeatable. Now we have a competition who performs a ball duty at the end of every practice. I am buying the second one to pick up the balls after my home robot practice right after submitting the review.

Disclaimer: It still remains to find out how durable this thing is. It looks solid and hard to break. However, who knows. Please, stay in touch, I will add information when available!

Verified Purchase

I love my Ping Pong Buddy. If you play Table Tennis this is a product you need. It saves lots of time and energy not crawling under the table picking up balls. Great service and awesome product.

We've actually bought two of these, one for our Milwaukee office and one for the Los Angeles office. It's an amazing product, gets into places that traditional nets don't go. The balls stay in the net during collection, unlike the other collector net. There's spare parts to replace it, again, something the other net wouldn't provide. I'm not even sure we'll need the parts, it's worked flawlessly thus far. We have roughly 10-15 people that use it proficiently without breaking it. If the founder wants to come play ping pong 26 floors above L.A. beers are on me!
